She’s Geeky’s end-of-year list of online resources turned me onto COLOURlovers, a clearinghouse for creative inspiration or a visual time suck, depending on how you look at it. With hue and brightness sliders and 1MM+ user-created color palettes–you’ll need the RSS feed to get through them–the community is unlikely to help with any resolutions of better time management (but may help the less color coordinated among us in selecting shades, with a recent feature on the color trends of the year’s best magazine covers as a starting point). Color and palette adjustment is more robust on Adobe’s Kuler site, but COLOURlovers’ patterns and user feedback are well worth a visit–and a recent discussion in the forums about the importance of simplicity reminds me that “anything I enjoy doing is not a waste of my time.”
