I was with Sherri Berger of the California Digital Library (for which it would be a blast to curate) when the Windy City MCA showed an eye-catching Tropicália exhibit a few years ago. The bright colors and collage effect stayed with me, and I’m very happy to hear that the local Yuerba Buena Center for the Arts is opening a contemporary Brazilian art exhibit, “When Lives Become Form, Contemporary Brazilian Art, 1960s to the Present.” Fashion design and architecture will be included in the round up of work from the tropics opening tonight. Campari anyone?
