I got a lot out of PSFK’s SF conference last year, and it came as no surprise that their Good Brands Report for ’09 is just as worthwhile. In looking at criteria including experimentation, environment and going “beyond the 30 second spot,” the trends publisher identified Zipcar, Good Magazine, and Virgin as the brands doing the most notable work since this time last year. The best advice (…beyond Twitter being a company to watch–oh, that) is the Good Mag lesson for business: “Set the agenda and let your customers spread the conversation.”

I’m undecided about whether the image is condescending or eye-catching (the latter for sure in a strategic placement in the Bender’s women’s bathroom), but local cycling apparel company Pushbike is hosting a casual women’s ride from their 24th and Treat location tomorrow night.
The good folks at clothier apliiq (previously featured for their well-designed custom hoodies, Ts, et al) has offered to create a one-of-a-kind T for one Goliblogski reader in August. They help wearers select fabrics for original apparel and offer some colorful goods online as well; see exhibit A, the Spring of 89 Hoody Dress they just sent to the new digs in Hayes Valley (it may not be worn with white cowboy boots but will still reak of the Decade of Excess).
